A Day At The Getty With My Photo Class

I can't remember if I mentioned this but over the past year I've been teaching a photo class for Los Angeles teens at a nonprofit community arts center called Art Share LA. Recently, I took a few of the students to the Getty Museum to see the "Engaged Observers" Exhibit. They are a wonderful group of young people and their work is really interesting. This was a fun day. We saw some truly inspirational photography, had a lot of laughs and even took some great pictures ourselves! Thank you so much to The Getty for your hospitality.

If you are in the LA area I definitely recommend checking out the show. I have included a link below to the Getty's webpage profiling the exhibit.

Community Too

Here are a few more selects from my Community Project. It’s still a work-in-progress, and probably will be for quite a while, but I have enjoyed tackling this assignment and I'm looking forward to seeing where it takes me next. There will be more to come very soon!

Community

Here are some images from a documentary project that I’ve been working on. It’s currently still “in progress” but the theme of the project is based on community, urban culture and the people’s connection to the world around them. I will be posting more soon…until then, enjoy!

Panoramas

Ever since my first photo history course with Mr. White I’ve been intrigued by the concept of panoramas. Here are a few of mine from a series that I’ve been working on.

MOPLA

The Month of Photography was very busy and my shows at “The Fresh Fairs Exhibit” and “The Focus on Aids Auction” went really well. I received a lot of interest in my work and was honored to be included in an exhibit with such greats as William Eggleston, Lauren Greenfield, Mary Ellen Mark and Antonin Kratochvil. The wonderful feedback was both inspiring and energizing.
